Adjust the cane's height as needed, ensuring your elbow is slightly bent when holding the cane. 6. To adjust the height, loosen the locking mechanisms, extend or retract the cane to the desired length, and firmly tighten the locking mechanisms. 7. Regularly inspect the cane for any signs of wear and tear. 8. If using the cane on stairs, place the cane on the step first, followed by the weaker leg and then the stronger leg when ascending. When descending, place the cane on the lower step first, followed by the weaker leg and then the stronger leg. Recommended Frequency: Use the cane as needed for stability and support during ambulation. Additional Tips: 1.
